London-based shipbroker Clarkson PLC revealed that it is in talks with the board of RS Platou ASA regarding the possible acquisition of all of the issued share capital of Platou.
Clarksons said that whilst discussions regarding the combination of these two businesses continue, “there can be no certainty that any transaction will occur.”

PMA calls for Temporary Contract Extension Deal
The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) called upon the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) to agree to a temporary contract extension while the two parties continue to work on a new agreement, to avoid gridlocks as holiday shipping season starts to gear up.
